Stupid people. Who does not know her. Everyone defines stupidly differently, but is still annoyed about this type of person. BUT, there is even a scientific explanation:
the virus that makes you (somewhat) “stupid”! π No joke.
The human genome consists of 3 billion bases (adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine) and codes for approx. 20 – 25,000 proteins. In fact, we only use about 2% of our DNA, the rest is so-called “junk DNA”. ( http://www.yourgenome.org/dgg/general/genes/genes_1.shtml )
Parts of this “junk DNA” are of viral origin, which has long been known.
By chance, researchers from the United States have now discovered DNA sections of the Acanthocystis turfacea chlorella virus 1, an algae virus of the Chlorovirus family, in the DNA of mucosal cells of the oropharynx (the union of the oral and pharynx cavities).
Tests on human subjects showed that carriers of these DNA sections were on average 10% slower in cognitive tests. Mice infected with this virus found their way out of a labyrinth 10% slower than uninfected mice.
But do not panic: it has not yet been possible to show whether these viruses can be transmitted from person to person, and they do not occur everywhere. And even if: 10% is not the world. π

PS: Very important: this message is real, including the data, but there is no need to panic. π
